20’ high (it’s a climber!)

Flower
Time:
Late June to Early July
Ornamental
Characteristics:
This
is a Southeastern naïve that deserves a chance.
While grappling up a trunk using is root-like
holdfasts, Decumaria can soften any
stiff structure while brightening the dark corner with its glistening
leaves,
of which hold up clean and attractive all growing season. We were under that
impression that this plant
does not flowering in our area. However,
our good friend and respected plantsman, Mike
Hayman,
confidently said that his blooms every year.
So, the somewhat greenish cream flowers can be appreciated
as spring
fades away and summer begins its yearly onslaught of heat and humidity. While the floral displays
will not overwhelm
a garden, the glossy, clean foliage and reliable yellow Fall color make
this
plant a must for any respectable planting.
