 Ornamental Characteristics:

 Weigelas are what you see in Grandma’s yard.  The older varieties bloom in the spring then are a large green mass the rest of the growing season, similar to older Forsythias.  Gold Rush has the same toughness as the species, but breaks up the green monotony with gorgeous yellow margins on the foliage.  The variegation does not scorch in the sun and remains presentable all season.
