 Every once in a while, a plantsman gets humbled through being reminded there are still plenty of mistakes to be made.  Jasminum floridanum was one of those for Ben.  He purchased liners of J. nudiflorum believing they were the species being missed in our area.  This was wrong and thanks to the insight and patience of Tony Nold, we were straightened out and are offering a more unique species.

 With J.f.’s outstanding disease resistance and ability to withstand dry shade, it fits the bill as a great garden plant.  Beautiful, bright yellow blooms adorn this plant in late spring, being set off wonderfully by a backdrop of deep green, finely textured foliage.  Not only does this gracefully mounding shrub offer its flowers for enjoyment, but its clean, evergreen foliage allows some additional interest in the winter garden.
