 I can remember first experiencing this extraordinary perennial in a garden at Bernheim that was designed by Mary Vannanen, who is currently with Jelitto Seeds.  Its’ strong flower stalks rocketed skyward well above my head and were topped with exquisite cream lily flowers about 6” in diameter.  Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this flowering phenomenon is that it was occurring in the middle of July when most  other plants are just trying to survive.

 A note must be made that good drainage and regular mulching is a must to ensure consistent floral pleasure year after year.
