Time:
Mid September
Ornamental
Characteristics:
‘Snow
Fairy’ is a fantastic variegated die-back shrub/
perennial. The
leaves begin with a
creamy yellow variegation along the margin, which quickly changes to a
pure
white edge as maturation occurs. The
deep green interior of the leaf make the foliar characteristics even
more
stunning. Because
of its high resistance
to leaf burn, this plant is in good order for its fall display. Blue, peculiarly shaped
flowers begin to open
in September and generally last for about 4 weeks.
The created common name is due to the
flower’s close resemblance to Clerodendrum
flowers. Some
botanists actually place
this plant in that genus. Please
do not
let your children plant this selection since its foliage reeks of a
terrible
stench, of which has been described as reminiscent of cat urine.
Ben's daughter may never touch another plant after taking stem
cuttings of this fetid beauty.
