Vitex agnus-castus
Chastetree
Size: 8' x 8'
Exposure: Full sun
Flower: Blue panicles from July to August
There are few other plants that are as uniquely attractive and tough as
Vitex. The leaves emerge in May with a palmate leaf,
reminiscent of a certain illegal herb. Diseases and insects
do not disturb the foliage, leaving it clean and presentable until
frost.
The heat of the summer invoke the development of 10" long and 8" wide
panicles of true blue flowers. These clusters absolutely cover
the plant for at least 6 weeks.
All the above beauty and resistance is as reliable as the sunrise, even
after excessive climatic pressures.
We recommend cutting Vitex back to 12" each winter to retain vigor and
compactness.
